Coach Luke Cathcart

Director of Pitching

Coach Cathcart is originally from Conyers, Ga where he attended Heritage High school. While attending Heritage, Coach Cathcart was a 3 year varsity letterman. He played high school ball under Head Coach Casey Teal, and Head Coach Jason Borcherding.

After high school, Coach Cathcart was granted a scholarship to play baseball at Reinhardt University. At Reinhardt, he was thrown into various roles as a pitcher, but ended up settling into a longer reliever/ closing role. Coach Cathcart was apart of the 2014 team that broke the current school record in wins (36), and also holds various individual pitching records.

1st in single season saves (7)

1st in all time saves (12)

1st in single season appearances (27)

1st in all time appearances (79)

2016 1st team all Appalachian Athletic Conference reliever

After graduating from Reinhardt University in 2016, Coach Cathcart helped manage and operate D-BAT West Cobb Baseball and Softball Academy located in Kennesaw, Ga. After managing the facility for a few years, he then began an arm care program with fellow coach, Brett Snell. Shortly after starting the program, Luke and Brett realized that what they were doing with the program would greatly impact travel baseball. So together Brett and Luke got Coach Jacob Cagle on board to found the Southeast Sox in the fall of 2019. Luke’s mission is to provide knowledge of arm care and movement quality to not only pitchers, but all players through his throwing program and protocols.
